OUR STORY.

Elliot Bibby is the proprietor of Walton’s Bar & Grill – a young and gifted chef, born in Cumbria and lives in Kendal, who has cut his teeth at establishments across the region including The Greenhouse Restaurant, the Old Stamp House and the Highwayman, from high-end fine dining to classic English pubs, pop-up street food and even working as a brewer.

In case you’re wondering – Walton is the surname of Elliot’s grandparents, Pat and George.

Elliot comes from a family of wonderful cooks – none of them chefs by trade, but through the generations, can be credited for the love of food that inspires him to this day.

This family tradition, of preparing and sharing classic British food, with a hefty nod or two to the food that has excited us on our travels, has led to the creation of Walton’s.

We very much look forward to welcoming you to Walton’s Bar & Grill in Kendal. Bring your family, bring your friends. But most of all, bring your appetite.

LET'S TALK FOOD.

The food we prepare and put on a plate for you to enjoy means a lot to Elliot.

Post-university, Elliot’s first career was in organic agriculture but, after re-igniting his passion for cooking, he quickly immersed himself in his aim of becoming a chef.

Walton’s Bar & Grill is where Elliot combines this knowledge.

As the name suggests, the grill is where much of our food is cooked – the high searing heat ensuring quick cooking that captures the flavours, perfect for pairing with cooling crisp salads and sharp citrus dressings.

Our sides are just as special as our mains so if you fancy just making a meal out of a selection of your favourites, then be our guest.

Britain produces some incredible ingredients to work with and, done well, they stand up to anything in the world.

This is why, wherever possible, ingredients are sourced from local producers – meat from Dales Traditional Butchers and Watson & Woollard, bread from More Bakery, ices from Kimi’s Gelato, sauces and relishes from Hawkshead Relish, and a selection of cheeses from The Cheese Larder.
